Hagerty Statement on Biden’s so-called Budget

May 28, 2021

WASHINGTON—United States Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today released the following statement on President Joe Biden’s so-called budget proposal for fiscal year 2022:

“Just as I predicted in April when the Biden Administration unveiled its budget framework, and I said it was a waste of the paper it’s printed on, this so-called budget should go straight to the dumpster. With inflation at a 13-year high, President Biden has proposed a budget that taxes too much, spends too much, regulates too much, and grows government too much—completely undermining investments in the American worker and our national security over the last four years. It prioritizes the anti-law-enforcement policies of the far left by defunding Immigration and Customs Enforcement and further weakening other significant border security measures that are needed to solve the crisis created this January at the Southern border. It is said that budgets demonstrate where a President’s priorities lie, which means that President Biden’s priorities are to weaken our economic recovery, weaken our national security, and weaken American greatness.”
