Hagerty Announces 2023 First Session Summer Interns

NASHVILLE, TN—United States Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) today announced the students serving as interns in his Washington, D.C. and Tennessee offices for the 2023 first summer session.

“The legislative branch is a great place for students to see first-hand how our government functions, and an internship in the U.S. Senate presents an invaluable opportunity to see behind the curtain,” said Senator Hagerty. “It is an honor to welcome these accomplished and hardworking students to my office this summer as they experience hands-on involvement in the daily operations of a Senate office, the legislative process, and serving constituents all across the Volunteer State.”

Washington, D.C. Interns

Maggie Eidt is from Franklin, Tennessee. She recently graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor’s degree in Law Studies.

Shields Armstrong is from Oxford, Mississippi. She recently graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance.

Tobin Lester is from San Francisco, California. He is a junior at Southern Methodist University, where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Tennessee Intern

Wyatt Bettis, interning in the Nashville office,is from Nashville, Tennessee. He is a sophomore at Emory University, where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in History.
