Hagerty Announces Staff Changes, Promotions

NASHVILLE, TN—United States Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) today announced several changes to his staff in Washington, D.C. and Tennessee. 

“My teams in both the Volunteer State and on Capitol Hill are comprised of talented and accomplished men and women who have served Tennesseans extraordinarily well for two and a half years,” said Senator Hagerty. “I’m pleased to welcome several new individuals to my staff, as well as announce promotions for others, that will help me continue to best represent the great state of Tennessee and its exceptional people in our nation’s capital.”

Promotions

Cole Bornefeld will serve as a Legislative Correspondent to Hagerty. Bornefeld previously served as a Staff Assistant in Hagerty’s office after first serving as an intern in Senator Hagerty’s Washington, D.C. office in 2021 and for Hagerty’s 2020 U.S. Senate campaign. Bornefeld graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Relations and is a native of Hendersonville, Tennessee. 

Watson Dill will serve as a Legislative Correspondent to Hagerty assisting in the Healthcare, Education, Labor, Pension and Veteran’s Affairs portfolio. Dill previously served as a Staff Assistant in Hagerty’s office. He graduated from Villanova University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and is a native of Nashville, Tennessee.

Brandon Jackson will serve as Deputy Press Secretary.Jackson previously served as Press Assistant to Hagerty and is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is a native of Franklin, Tennessee.

Brittany Montgomery will serve as a Field Representative for Hagerty, representing the Southern Middle Region of Tennessee. Montgomery previously worked as Special Projects Coordinator in Hagerty’s Nashville office and is a graduate of Western Governors University.

Additions

Jillian Cantrell has been named Staff Assistant in Hagerty’s Washington, D.C. office. Cantrell served as an intern in the summer of 2022 and is a recent graduate of Washington and Lee University, where she received degrees in Biology and Politics. She is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee. 

Steven Haines is serving as a Brookings LEGIS Fellow. Haines is a Foreign Affairs Officer detailed from the Department of State, where he worked on China issues. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno and a graduate degree from The George Washington University. He is a native of Franklin, Tennessee.

Luke Harris has been named Legislative Correspondent to Hagerty assisting with domestic policy. Harris joins from Senator Todd Young’s (R-IN) office, where he served as Personal Aide. Harris is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where he received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Cal Mitchell has been named Personal Aide to Hagerty in the Washington, D.C. office. Mitchell joins from Congressman Aaron Bean’s office (R-FL-04), where he served as a Staff Assistant. He is from Atlanta, Georgia and is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College.
